GTA Trees Services: The Tree Care Specialists
Pruning
Tree Pruning entails getting rid of dead, broken or damaged branches from mature and young trees. Sometimes removing live branches is needed to correct rubbing limbs and increase air and light passage. Tree pruning is essential in a tree’s overall health and helps maintain its attractive condition and structural safety. GTA Tree Services has certified arborists who can help maintain your trees through proper pruning techniques.
Pruning enhances the shape and appearance of trees and maintains its safety. It also preserves the strengths of trees and maintains its natural beauty and character. This significantly adds value to your property. Aesthetic tree care is usually provided to deteriorating mature trees to restore its grandeur and beauty. For younger trees, developmental pruning is performed to ensure the desirable growth of branches and maintain structural safety. Proper pruning on young trees prevents structural problems as the trees mature.
Additionally, pruning addresses safety concerns especially when trees are found along pedestrian lanes and driveways. It also prevents storm damage and falling limbs.
Tree Removal
We offer tree removals for dead and damaged trees, as well as live trees that are dangerous to the safety of people and properties. We have highly qualified professionals who use specialized equipment to ensure safety and prevent damage to your property and landscaping. This service includes taking down the tree, chipping brush and cutting the wood into logs. We also provide stump removal and wood disposal services.
Cities have different laws pertaining to tree removals. In the GTA permits are necessary to remove privately owned trees. In some areas, however, permits are not needed. We can facilitate the processing of permits if you reside within the GTA.
Maintaining the tree’s health is important to protect its life and longevity. Since GTA Tree Services is committed to tree preservation our arborists will look at all safe alternatives which will allow you to keep your tree instead of taking it down. Tree removal becomes necessary when the tree becomes dangerous because of age and infestation; and also when it interferes with utility wires or other trees and buildings.
Stump Removal
A tree stump left after a tree removal is not only an eye sore but is also a tripping hazard for you and the family. Additionally, fungal root rot takes place when stumps are not removed affecting the plants around it. Left to rot or decay tree stumps also attract pests. However, GTA Tree Services can help property owners with its stump removal service. We have specialized equipment that can grind the stump 6-8 inches below ground level so the soil can be used once more to grow sod or plants. We prefer stump grinding for two reasons:
- this process is chemical-free; and
- it is the most cost-efficient way of removing the stump.
Properties will look well maintained and more beautiful after removing the stump opens up the space. It will also prevent decay and unwanted pests. Contact us TODAY for a quote!
Emerald Ash Borer Infestation Control
The Emerald Ash Borer (EAB) is an invasive wood-boring beetle from Asia that has killed millions of trees in the United States since its arrival in the 1990s. It was discovered in Detroit, Michigan in 2002 and the infestation was confirmed in Toronto in 2007. The invasive EAB kills all ash tree species.
GTA Tree Services helps prevent EAB infestation through the use TreeAzin, the only approved product against EAB in Canada which
- prevents EAB larvae development
- prevents EAB adult development
- provides preventive treatments.
TreeAzin is injected into the stem of the ash tree.
Tree Root Feeding
Our Tree Root Feeding service aerates the soil and provides nutrients to trees through shallow root feeding. For this feeding process we use organic matter and mycorrhizal fungi, which is a microscopic fungi that serve as extensions of the root systems for effective nutrient and water absorption. Mycorrhizal fungi extend the absorbing area of tree roots from 100 to 1000 times enhancing access to soil nutrients. Additionally, these beneficial fungi discharge enzymes into the soil which dissolve organic nitrogen, phosphorus, iron and other tightly bound soil nutrients.
Activities like compaction, fumigation, top soil removal and tillage often remove these beneficial soil fungi and should be avoided. Proper tree root feeding requires blended soil composed of soil, compost mix, mycorrhizal fungi and a batch of forest soil mix. After aerating the ground, we use this blend to fill in the openings in the soil.
We strongly advise against fertilizing because it can destroy soil nutrients. Fertilizing in single large doses can damage trees that quickly grow too large. If necessary, fertilizers should be applied in small doses and used sparingly. Fertilizers, even when they are labeled as organic fertilizers, produce salts that dehydrate and kill microorganisms needed by trees. Some lawn fertilizers also have herbicides that not only kill weeds but also damage trees.
